We usually think about health in terms of what we do. Our diet. Our exercise. Our sleep routines.
And of course, those things matter.
But if you’ve been through cancer—or are still walking through it—you know better than anyone that healing isn’t just physical.
It’s emotional. It’s mental. It’s everything.
And here’s the truth: what you think and feel today… who you believe yourself to be today… shapes your future reality just as much as anything you do.
Now, I know what you’re thinking.
You’ve already got a full plate. A demanding job. A body that may still be recovering. Scanxiety creeping in before every appointment.
And then someone’s telling you to work on your mindset?
Please.
But I’m not talking about toxic positivity or pretending you’re fine when you’re not.
I’m talking about tiny but real shifts.
The kind that create ripple effects.
Like deciding today that you’re allowed to rest (or to say “no”) without guilt.
Like choosing today to question the voice that says “you’re not doing enough.”
Like deciding today that you are willing to take steps to let go of your fear, anxiety, anger, and guilt—because you realize that if you don’t, you’ll still be feeling them six months or six years from now.
I’m talking about healing.
Six months from now, your nervous system could be a whole lot calmer.
Your boundaries could be stronger.
Your inner critic quieter.
Not because you completely overhauled your outer life, but because you worked on your inner life and started honoring what you feel, what you need, and what you’re worth—now.
So if today you’re struggling, be gentle with yourself.
And if today you can take even one tiny step—saying no to that extra project, sitting in stillness for five minutes, starting to work with a cancer coach or therapist—take it.
Because six months from now?
You’ll be so glad you did.
